Examine A menacing, magical hood which conjures runes and rune essence.
Location This item can be obtained from Tam McGrubor in Burthorpe, just outside of the Runecrafting tutor's building, after you have reached level 5 in either Magic or Runecrafting.

Used in
Uses Using a Runecrafting talisman or tiara on the hood will cause it to consume the talisman. The hood will then act as a talisman of that type when worn, and also 'unlocks' the rune type on the activation interface.
By selecting the 'teleport' option on the hood, you will be teleported to the Wizards Tower.
By selecting the 'activate' option on the hood, a menu can be accessed that has a number of functions:
  • Runes - Click this option and then click on any unlocked rune to obtain either 5 members runes or 100 non-members runes for free. Can be used once a day, or twice a day after both an omni-talisman and elemental talisman have been added to the hood.
  • Essence - Select this button to gain 100 rune essence for free. If an omni-talisman has been consumed, pure essence will be obtained.
  • Teleport - Select this and then click on any of the unlocked runes to be teleported to the corresponding rune altar. Can only be used twice a day.
Notes If you destroy your Wicked hood, the progress you made unlocking it will be saved. You can get another one by speaking to Tam McGrubor in Burthope.

Adding an elemental talisman gives the following extra bonuses:
  • Another 100 low level runes or 5 high level runes.
  • 1 extra teleport.


You gain small boosts of exp when adding a talisman or tiara to the hood. 5 more exp is gained from the talisman/tiara than the talisman/tiara of the rune that is lower. (example: Water gives 60exp, earth would give 65 and fire would give 70, etc.)

A keepsake hood will remember its colour and can be recoloured by going to Wizard Finix. The hood will recharge daily.
