I Am...

Written by and edited by Hamtaro

I am a skiller. You'll find me wherever you can find a resource that hasn't been harvested or processed, and chances are I had a hand in making some of the items in your bank right now. The work's not as good as it used to be, but it's safe and steady. At the end of the day, I know I'm the most talented one of the bunch: the numbers don't lie, especially not when they're emblazoned on a cape for all the world to see... And I have a lot of capes.

I am a quester. I'm the first person to reach the end of the dungeon and the one that rescues cats from trees; if the trees had teeth and traps and the cat didn't need rescuing. Sometimes I'm rewarded, other times the experience is its own reward. If I'm lucky it will be both. I have trophies from most of those adventures, and throughout them I've seen most of the world. I have modest skills and combat talents, but I can tell you anything about, well, anything.

I am a monster hunter. Look for the biggest, strongest creature you can and I can tell you exactly how to kill it. If it's guarding a treasure of some kind, I've probably found it at least once. The best rewards are free for the taking, if you have the courage and skill to take them - I for one have plenty of both, in addition to the wealth to equip myself with the skills and gear worthy of a slayer such as myself.

I am a player killer. I am what makes the wilderness dangerous. Unlike the boss hunter up there, I'm not in it for the reward, but for the thrill of combat against an enemy that can't be farmed until it pays you. I don't necessarily have the same talents as the other three - I can do the basics and I've been on a few adventures in the past - but combat is where I really shine, and what better way to test myself than against someone as dangerous as myself?

I do a bit of everything. I don't fit neatly into any of those categories - very few of us do. I'm just here to play the game the way I want to. We can throw around labels all we like, at the end of the day we all end up here in one way or another, from the new player that's exploring the game's mechanics to the die-hard completionist, if only because we can. With all this freedom, why limit yourself?
