TeamSpeak 2 Guide

Introduction

Communication is one of the most important things in clans - direct speech is probably the fastest way to communicate. Therefore TeamSpeak is, as one of the most used audio programs, used by a large group of clans, ranging from monsterhunting to warring to skilling. Just to have a nice chat, debating over decisions or to call piles for your clan, it has a wide range of uses.

Using TeamSpeak 2

In order to connect to a server, click on "Connection" and select "Quick Connect", a window like below will appear. Fill in the server address and choose a nickname, log in names and passwords are only needed if you either registered with the server or the server requires a password. Click on Connect.

TS2 Download33

Before I start to explain in detail how TeamSpeak 2 works, I'll tell a bit about the way the registering works. Once you're on a server for the first time, you're unregistered (U), a Channel or Server Admin (CA or SA) can give you the right to register with the server. When you have the right to, go to "Self" and click on "Register With Server", choose a nickname and password and finish. Now that you're registered, you can see a R behind your name, an Operator (O), a CA or SA can give you Voice (V, allows you to talk in moderated channels), AutoVoice (AV, automatically gives user voice on entering a channel), Operator (O, can voice other users), AutoOperator (AO, automatically gives user Operator status on entering a channel), Channel Admin (CA, can manage the channel and it's users) and Server Admin (SA, has access to all server settings). TS2 Download25 Upon entering the server, you will appear in the default channel (D). Right-clicking on a channel will give these options, most of the options are straight-forward. Not all options are available to everyone, as not everyone may have the same rights on the server. The letters behind the channels have a meaning: U (Unregistered Channel), R (Registered channel), M (Moderated channel), S (Sub-channels allowed), D (Default channel) and P (channel with password).

TS2 Download31

If you right-click on another user on the server, a window will appear like the one below. Depending on your rights, you can kick and ban people from the channel or server.

TS2 Download30

Clicking on will give you the screen below, if you want to disconnect from the server, you can do that here. There's also "Server Connection Info" with uptime info, data transfers etc..
