Items

There are many useful items in game, you can use pots to get wheat, buckets to get water and milk, shears to get wool from sheep, tinderboxes on wood logs to start fire, metal bars on anvils to smith items, ore in furnaces to get metal bars. Most items can be found or bought in many shops found around Runescape.

NOTE: This list is not complete and will never be complete as Runescape is dynamic world and items are added very often. If you see any item missing please MAKE A PIC and send it in email with NAME OF ITEM, COST, HOW you get it or location where you can find it.

Rare Items Guide - New

For easier understanding we will divide items in:

Weapons

Quality (Material) of weapon directly influence attack accuracy and damage you inflict in combat. You can see it directly on status screen under Characteristics, under Equipment Weapon Aim and Weapon Power. In January 2002 they introduced Minimum level to be able to use some weapons of better materials.

Scimitars
Long Swords
2 Handed Sword

All these weapons are very similar and have nearly equal Aim and Power values.
Axes Hatchet or Axe
Battle Axe
The axe is a tool if used on a tree; you can cut down trees and produce logs. With axes, it is more difficult to hit a target than it is with swords but axes inflict more damage. Axes have lower Aim and higher Power.
Maces

Mace

Maces are blunt weapons which are easy to hit targets with, but will deliver low damage. Maces have higher Aim but lower Power.
Bows

Short Bow
Long Bow
Crosbow

This is Ranged weapons used in Runescape, Bows use arrows and crossbow use bolts. You can attack somone in cage, between iron gates or over fences. Good metod is to help a friend in combat shoting at his target. Damage depends mostly on skill, on bow depend rang, /accuracy and speed. crossbows are slower and do more damage.
Throw Knives Throw Knives Ranged weapon with damage range as for same material arrow. You can poison them (members made)/ not stackable.
Darts Darts Ranged weapon Very accurate/ short range weapon/stackable one hand
Spears Spears Ranged Weapon Accurate/high damage weapon that is not stackable so occupy ton of space.

Armour

You can wear armor in 6 zones: Head, Torso, Hands, Legs, Shield and Cape. Every piece of armor adds to total armor as seen in stats screen. Also it is possible to convert a male platemail to female and back in Varrock - they have same characteristics.

Note about Dragon square shield: Right half is bought from the legends guild for 750k and the other half is an extremly rare drop from monsters which also drop half keys. After both halves are obtained, they must be smithed together (level 60 smithing required). Legends Quest must be completed to wear, although the left half may still be obtained from monsters even if you havn't completed the quest.

  • Cabbage (heals 1 hit point) Pick from the fields and eat. (note: cabbage from Draynor Manor raises defense by +1 temporarily) (thanks to Moo Moo)
  • Raw Meat (heals 3 or more hit points) To make, use raw meat with fire.
  • Bread (heals 5 or more hit points) To make, get flour by grinding grain in the windmill, and collecting it in a pot. Then make dough by combining wheat and water (in a pot or bucket). Finally, cook the dough in a stove or on a fire to make bread.
